Like most comedians, David began his professional life as a financial
analyst.
After
10 years in the stockbroking and oil industries, he decided to get
serious about his career and he set up Laughing Matters in 1994.
Before entering the workforce, David completed one of the least
spectacular Commerce Degrees in the history of the University of
Melbourne.

TV Writing and Columns
David was a comedy writer for the Seven Network's
AFI-nominated sketch comedy show Big Bite (2003),
and the comedy/variety program Hamish & Andy (2004).
He was also the writer for Channel Seven's World's Craziest Videos.
He also wrote for FoxTel's FoxFooty shows Living
With Footballers and children's flagship program Auskick'n
Around (2004).
Together with Jo Gill, he was also commissioned
to write a short animated piece for SBS Independent TV.
He is a former columnist for CCH's Australian
Occupational Health & Safety magazine, and has been commissioned
to write numerous poems and video scripts for clients including
The Campaign Palace, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Infosentials, Campbell
Howie Productions, Republic Films, Toyota and VicRoads.

Hotel, Silvers Nightclub, Chapel Off Chapel, and Club Odeon at
the Crown Casino.
Improv
Comedy
David
has performed in the 1999, 2000 and 2001 seasons of Theatresports,
and appeared in Impro Jim Jams at the Melbourne Town Hall (Melbourne
International Comedy Festival 2001).
Alongside
Jo Gill, he has performed improv comedy for the Collingwood,
Adelaide, and Richmond Football Clubs as well as Mayne Health,
IMA, Grey Advertising and the Fosters Group. He has provided
improvised mayhem as a 'Waiter From Hell' for Puma, Atlas Steel,
ASIC, Monash University and Pioneer Electronics.

In his 2002 hit one man show 'Marathon Man' David
posed the question 'Can a fat man run a marathon?' In 2003 his sellout
performance ''Man With The Golden Run' he told the world what happened
when he tried. (And he has the footage to prove it.)

He also made a memorable cameo on Channel Seven's
Hamish & Andy in a brilliantly titled segment 'Toupee
or not Toupee?'
David has been heard on Radio SEN, 774 ABC, JJJ
and RRR and Joy FM.
